Live Comedy Association

Representing and connecting the UK Live Comedy Industry to ensure we survive and thrive in the face of Covid-19 and beyond.

Initial Priorities

A Network

Our industry has never had any formal channels of communication. The LCA will act as a network between venues, promoters, festivals, comics, and other stakeholders across the country. The industry will be able to share their concerns, questions, and information. In the short term, through the LCA we’ll be able to coordinate an industry-wide approach to the Covid-19 crisis and easing of the UK lockdown.

Lobbying

The LCA will act as a united front for the industry, fighting for more support from the national governments and local councils. Opening up access to various areas of government funding, many of which aren’t currently available to individuals, companies, and venues in our industry, will be crucial to the continued survival of live comedy. The LCA will raise the concerns of our industry alongside organisations and associations representing similarly affected industries such as music, theatre, leisure and hospitality.

The LCA’s Board can be found here. The LCA’s current Directors are co-founders Bríd Kirby & Owen Donovan and Chair of the Board Pax Lowey.
